We start out by establishing respect and confidence through rigorous groundwork, and only after they can calmly longe, turn on the forehand and respond to pressure are they introduced to having a rider on their back.
The most important skill a young horse can learn is the art of self-balance and collection. My goal is to have my horses be light in the bridle so a dressage foundation is integral to their education, regardless of what their final job will be.
Horses offered for sale will be schooling at least Training Level and most will have progressed to First Level movements. After they are comfortable under saddle we begin to explore the world outside the ring. They are exposed to all the scary noises and objects found around the farm, so they quickly become used to farm machinery, cows, barking dogs, and cars.
My goal is that the horse you come to see will have excellent ground manners, be a gentleman or lady in the stable, and a partner with the solid basics to join you on your journey. I was blown away! The wreath is so lush and thick, so beautiful and smells wonderful. There is no problem selling the hay, the majority of which goes to horses in Las Vegas and Los Angeles areas. Critter Adoption Application. Call before travelling to Kelsey Creek Farm to ensure the facility is open. If the Bellevue School District is closed due to a weather event, Kelsey Creek Farm's classes and programs will be cancelled for the entire day. Administration will decide whether to cancel a program or close a facility based upon the safety of participants and employees and the ability to appropriately staff programs and facilities.
If the Bellevue School District is on a delayed schedule, call the facility for an updated status report. Select facilities may be open for drop-in activities at a modified level.
