Excellent place to work! Merck is an inclusive employer who cares and provide growth opportunities at all levels. During the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the company sent non-essential personnel to work from home without any loss of income. Management is very supporting and professional. One of the best places I have worked. Left the company due to contingent worker time limitations 2 years max.

Willing to return if asked!! Merck is a Good place to work. I had a chance to work and meet good people. Merck provides lots of learning opportunities for employees to learn and grow more. Jobs at Merck.

Merck has a well known history for being a great company to get into. I was a bit surprised when I got there. The pay is not as much as I had hoped. I took a significant decrease in pay at Merck after being laid off from my last job.

Pros Work life flexibility, management doesn't micro manage. Cons No celebrations, hard to trust coworkers, silos, pay isn't great, no promotions just more work added. I had high hopes starting at Merck because of the company's overall success and growth. I was disheartened to find that none of this existed at the Millsboro site.

Positions that require bachelor degrees and years of experience to obtain involve only mopping floors and walls and scrubbing equipment. The work culture in the Production and Quality Control departments is the most toxic I have yet to see. Employees who work hard are punished by being given more responsibilities with no added pay or bebefits, while employees who have no work ethic are allowed to continue without punishment.

Management is so top level they do not understand the process they manage and will create schedules and work flows that let some people leave early while others have 6 or more hours of exhausting mandatory overtime. Not to mention our site was the worst for safety in the entire U. When safety concerns are voiced they fall on deaf ears and the safety cards end up lost in a void.

When these voiced issues lead to employees being hospitalized, management acts as though they were clueless to the issue. I believe this stems from the aforementioned work ethic punishments, where employees are punished for taking risks and staring new projects to fix issues. The fact that this location pays lower than any other in the U. I can't recommend this site to anyone.

Do yourself a favor and find a better company. Any company really. Pros The company name has some prestige to it. Cons Safety is superficial at best, work roles are redundant, pay is low for the company standard, overtime is frequent and mandatory leading to poor work-life balance, management is not present and too top level to understand the actual processes they oversee. Pharmaceutical companies are job proof.

Bonus payouts are high. The shifts are horrible for any kind of life. Swing shifts for operations management beware. Pros Benefits. Cons Shifts. Great mission to meet unmet medical needs for humans and animals. Rigid and inflexible human-resource policies. Lack of emotional intelligence across management. Only people in-the-circle get career advancement. Recent hybrid work culture is a sham - managers want everyone to be in the office despite the pandemic and risk of infection. Only managers - Company has limited leaders that inspire, coach, help with talent potential.

They are power hungry and only think for themselves. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Good mentorship. Great work life balance. Fantastic learning experience.

Merck encouraged giving back to the community. Initiative was rewarded. Continuing education was encouraged. Merck is a good company with a strong background.

Unfortunately, management will try to ruin that, which at times can make you thankful that they interact with you so seldom.

Directors have at least twice the number of direct reports that they should have, most of whom tend to be on different projects. They never attend those project meetings.
